Inside were bundles of cash, old documents, and several gold jewelry pieces that had disappeared a month earlier after a major robbery at a jewelry store in a neighboring district. The crowd erupted in murmurs. Someone immediately called the police.
It turned out that a few days before his death, the farmer had accidentally become a witness to the crime. The criminals had hidden the stolen goods in his barn, threatening to kill his entire family if he told the police. And only Thunder had seen all this time how his owner went out late at night to the barn to keep hiding that same bag. The horse recognized its scent even through the coffin lid. When the police later took the discovery away, many people still stood silently near the grave, staring at Thunder.
