An argument broke out, during which the man even struck Sophie’s mother. Seeing this, the child ran out of the house and sought help from the police. The police immediately detained the man, who was intoxicated and unaware of his actions.
One of the neighbors also gave a statement confirming what the child had told the police — that the man had indeed struck the woman. The neighbor had witnessed the incident but did not intervene out of fear for her own safety. The officer called for backup to take control of the entire apartment.
The man was arrested and taken to the station for committing acts of violence. Now the child began to smile and no longer cried, realizing that everything was safe and the situation had been resolved.
