The consequence was immediate.
My ex-husband tried to call me, text me, even showed up at my workplace, begging to talk.
He admitted he had been a fool, that he had let his daughter manipulate him, and that he had lost a good woman because of it.
Emily, meanwhile, was ostracized by family and friends who saw her for what she was-a liar who tore her own father’s marriage apart. Their relationship is now in ruins.
Now, I’m being told I went too far, that I should have just let it go. My ex-MIL said I “destr0yed” their family and should have “taken the high road.” But why should I have to suffer in silence while Emily gets to walk away unscathed?
So, am I in the wrong for exposing my stepdaughter’s lies and ruining her relationship with her father?
