My Daughter Came Home From Her Summer Job Holding a Newborn Baby, and Her First Words Left Me Completely Speechless

The job was at a lakeside resort three hours north, a summer position she had found through a friend of a friend, front desk and guest services, good pay and a room in the employee housing and the kind of distance from home that nineteen-year-olds need and that mothers of nineteen-year-olds have to find a way to give them.
