13 Hilarious Shopping Moments That Taught Strangers Some Unexpected Life Lessons

1. I’m standing in the store, picking out persimmons. An elderly lady approaches me with a weird device — a string with an attached nut (a pendulum). She brings it close to each persimmon, and it swings.

She tells me, “No, the persimmons aren’t sweet, don’t take them! I ask the pendulum if the persimmon is sweet? And it tells me no! It swings sideways — that means no.”

But I’m a rebel, I bought them anyway.

2. I went shopping with my wife. In the mall, she immediately took me to some clothing store and told me to wait at the entrance. An hour went by, then two — I got tired and got up to take a walk. About 150 feet away from the entrance, I found a group of guys sitting with huge bags and playing board games.

I watched them play, and one of them said, “Waiting for your wife too? Join us, we’ve got chess and books here. We’re the club of tired guys who get worn out from our wives’ shopping trips.” So now, I’m a member of this club.

This guy (one of the consultants) is sitting there totally unbothered. As soon as I came up to him with a question, he took off his mask right away… Respect and good vibes!

3. On a Friday evening, my friend and I decided to grab a bite of juicy grilled chicken. So, we walk into the store, making our way through the aisles toward our future dinner. We find it and choose the most well-roasted chicken.

But there’s no one behind the counter to serve us the chicken. We wait about 5 minutes, imagining how we’re going to eat it — yet, no one comes. More customers arrive and line up. We tell them we’ve been standing there for almost 7 minutes, and still, no one shows up.
